Caramelized maple-roasted chicken with a hint of Dion Aleppo Pepper. Sweet, spicy and perfect for cozy weekend dinners.
- 12 chicken drumsticks
- ⅓ cup canola oil
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ⅓ cup orange juice
- 3 tbsp Dion Crushed Aleppo Pepper
- 2 tbsp Dion Salt

- 3 tbsp Dion Freeze-Dry Garlic
- 1 tbsp Dion Freeze-Dry Dill
- In a bowl, mix all the spices with the maple syrup, orange juice, and canola oil.
- Place the chicken drumsticks in a large resealable (Ziploc) bag. Add the marinade, seal, and turn the bag to coat the chicken evenly.
- Refrigerate for 24 hours, turning occasionally to ensure even marination.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and pour the remaining marinade from the bag over it.
- Roast uncovered in the oven for 40–45 minutes.
- Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
Tip: This dish pairs wonderfully with basmati rice and sautéed vegetables.
It can also be cooked on the BBQ using the indirect heat method to ensure the chicken is thoroughly cooked without burning the skin.
